The following are just a few of the letters we've received from seniors that have been helped by the Budkis Fund.  If you have a testimonial you'd like published, please contact us.

Thank you so much for your generous gift to help William C. become reunited with his cat Mitsu. As William is prone to stress and is currently very ill, the potential loss of his cat nearly cost him his life. We appreciate your payment of the bill for Mitsu's surgery, for without she surely would have died!

The discovery of your foundation by our intern Amy was a true miracle, and we are so grateful that you are doing the work you do and were able to do this.

Thanks again for your working so hard to raise money to help low-income seniors keep their beloved pets alive and healthy, providing a quality of life for the seniors that is so important for their own survival.

With admiration and thanks,

Jake W.
Director, FamilyWorks

I am so thankful to you and your organization for providing the funding to pay the veterinarian bill for Sammy, my dog. He is so important to me since he was my husband's best friend prior to his death. My husband and I were married for 56 years, and Sammy has given me much comfort and consolation since my husband's death. He is an important part of my life especially since I, myself, am not well.

Your organization has been such a help for me since I am on a fixed income, and providing medical care for Sammy became a major concern. May God bless you and your organization for providing seniors with the opportunity to take care of those special pets that make our lives and our family so much more complete.

Again, my sincerest thanks to you for all that you have done for me. May continued success be in your future, and may God continue to bless you and your organization.

Sincerely,

Myrtle P. & Sammy

I can't thank you enough for the kindness you have shown my grandmother Pauline and her dog Penny. Your help in funding Penny's ear surgery has eased so much stress out of my grandma's life and out of mine too!

My grandma is 83 years old and is living off of her social security income. My husband and I help her monthly with her rent so she is able to stay in an apartment that allows large animals. Her dog Penny is about 10 years old and weights a whopping 73 pounds!

Grandma and Penny moved here almost a year ago. Unfortunately, Penny appears to be allergic to many things in Washington State. The allergy shows up as a severe skin itchiness. To compound that situation, she got infested with fleas and became allergic to the flea bites. She scratches and shakes her head a lot, even thought the fleas are all gone. According to the veterinarians at Banfield Pet Hospital, the hematoma in her ear was a result of a blood vessel bursting due to the persistent trauma of her head shaking.

Grandma thought she would need to have Penny put to sleep because she couldn't afford the surgery to fix the hematoma. Thank you for coming to the rescue! You saved a wonderful dog and you saved my grandma from a broken heart at the same time. May God richly bless you for your kindness!

Sincerely,

Love M.

Dear kind and loving people,

How does one thank someone for their best friend? You will never know how much it means to me that you helped save Maggie.

I am a widow and I work part time. To come home to someone who thinks I am the greatest thing alive and my heart is filled with joy and my lonely home is lonely no more and my lonely heart is lonely no more.

I have to use a C-Pap machine at night for sleep apnea and I look like Darth Vader. This dear animal gazes at me with absolute love in her eyes as if I am the most beautiful creature on earth, and my heart swells again. Doesn't everyone need someone to love them most? She is very careful not to wake me when I am sleeping, but twice she did; once barking in my face, and once nudging my face with her cold nose. My face mask had slipped off both times and I am convinced I had stopped breathing for a period of time.

If I laugh her tail thumps the floor. If I say "good morning" her tail thumps the bed. If I sing, she sings. Sometimes she is the only reason I get out of bed. One of her greatest joys is riding in the car and she is fascinated by everything we pass. She even swivels completely around to see out the back window and we look for doggies as we ride along. On Friday's she goes to work with me and people actually stop by the church just to see her.

Thank you so very much for donating the money to her operation. It must be wonderful to bring such joy to people. May God bless you. I will not forget you.

Love,

LeeAnn H.

I would like to thank you and your organization for your kindness in paying for my Max's operation. He is doing well and is just about back to his old self again.

I got Max from the Humane Society just before Christmas in 2003 and he has been a wonderful little friend since.

My husband and I are both in our seventies but as soon as we get back on our feet after my husband's illness we would like to send money to your fund as often as we have a little extra to help your wonderful organization help other little animals in distress.

I am sending a picture of Max to show you what a beautiful little dog you saved.

Thank you so very much,

Betty H. & Max

I want to express my appreciation and profound thanks to you for your financial help in providing the surgery for my great and loving kitty Susie. As I am old and living alone, she is my only companion and friend. I got Susie when I was living in Minneapolis 16 years ago.

Words cannot express my gratitude to you as my financial circumstances would have made it impossible for me to have had this surgery done. It is so comforting to know that there are still people and organizations like you that are so kind and understanding of people who love their pets so much and sometimes are unable to take proper care of them financially. Surely if circumstances ever change for me, I will endeavor to help someone in need.

Again, I thank you for your loving kindness and service.

Sincerely,

Maria B.

I want to thank you and your organization for the generous financial help in getting Angel the surgery she needed. It was greatly appreciated.

She is doing great. It has been a long time since I have seen her play.

I have enclosed one of my favorite pictures.

Again, thank you so much!

Patty F.

I am writing this note on behalf of Connie P. (she is unable to do so herself due to illness) to express her thanks and appreciation for helping with her beloved dog, Sugar's, bill.

She called me in tears to ask me to write you and it so warms my heart that you have been so generous with her since she has spent her life loving her pets.

Thanks you,

Cindy
